چکیده

This paper addresses an inverse approach to estimate the frequency-dependent Young’s modulus of a viscoelastic polymer layer in a laminated structure. The Young’s modulus is parameterized by a fractional derivative model and examined from a Bayesian perspective with the consideration of measurement and modeling uncertainties. The probabilthe use of Markov Chain Monte Carlo sampling methods. The proposed approach is experimentally validated on laminated glass. & 2013 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Incremental layerwise finite element formulation for viscoelastic response of multilayered pavements

This paper provides an incremental layerwise finite element formulation for the viscoelastic analysis of multilayered pavements.  The constitutive behavior of asphalt concrete is represented by the Prony series. Layerwise finite element has been shown to provide an efficient and accurate tool for the numerical simulation of laminated structures. Most of the previous research on numerical simula...

Investigation of Tensile Characteristics of an Epoxy Matrix Com-posite with Uni-Directional and Hybrid Tissue Natural Hemp Fibers

Using natural hemp fibers to reinforce the tensile characteristics of polymer matrix composites is investigated in this article. The fibers were applied to the epoxy matrix in unidirectional and hybrid tissue forms. After preparation of standard tensile stress test specimens via manual layup, the standard tensile test was done.  Young’s modulus, ultimate tensile stress, and the amount of absorb...

Creep Strain and Stress Analysis in Laminated Composite Pres-sure Vessels

This study investigates the time-dependent long-term creep strain in a composite cylinder made of glass/vinylester with a unidirectional ply. The cylinder is subjected to an internal pressure and the boundary condition is free–free and acts as thermal insulation. The classical lamination theory (CLT) is used to derive the governing equations as a second-order equation to determine the radial, c...

Comparison of viscoelastic finite element models for laminated glass beams

Laminated glass elements, which consist of stiff elastic glass layers connected with a compliant viscoelastic polymer foil, exhibit geometrically non-linear and time/temperature-sensitive behavior. In computational modeling, the viscoelastic effects are often neglected or a detailed continuum formulation typically based on the volumetric-deviatoric elastic-viscoelastic split is used for the int...

Finite Element Analysis for Damped Vibration Properties of Panels Laminated Porous Media

A numerical method is proposed to calculate damping properties for sound-proof structures involving elastic body, viscoelastic body, and porous media. For elastic and viscoelastic body displacement is modeled using conventional finite elements including complex modulus of elasticity. Both effective density and bulk modulus have complex quantities to represent damped sound fields in the porous m...
